#11 Alabama looking to salvage some pride in NCAA Football Betting Action Vs #17 Miss. St.

The Tide seems to be ebbing in Alabama as the defending national NCAA football betting champion’s national title are all but dashed after losing 2 games in the SEC conference and falling to 7-2.

However, not all is lost as this team still has a chance to play its way in the SEC championship and get an automatic bid to a BCS Bowl by winning the conference.  It will take a bit of luck, some losses by teams like the SEC leading Auburn and even South Carolina (which is 1.0 game up in the SEC standings) and a perfect record from here on out.

This weekend the Crimson Tide will host #17 Mississippi State in a must win game if hopes to keep its SEC championship dreams alive.Kickoff for this Saturday matchup is set for 7:20 Eastern Time and SBG Global opened with the Tide as a 13.5-point favorite with an over/under total at 47.5.

Alabama is the better team in this matchup and if plays to its potential this game shouldn’t be close.  But lately the Tide has not executed well.  QB Greg McElroy has not played well.  Opponents have found chinks in Alabama’s defensive armor and crafty LSU coach Les Miles has made life miserable for Tide fans.

Heading into Saturday’s game the Tide has one huge advantage: playing at home in one of the most intimidating stadiums in the NCAA football betting action.

Statistically the Tide also has big advantage.  Miss St.’s defense is giving up 336 total yards per game and has allowed 17 TDs this season.  Those are enticing numbers for an Alabama squad that’s averaging 427.9 total yards per game and has rolled up 34 TDs in total.  The key matchup in this game as with every ‘Bama game will be Miss St.’s ability to stop RB Mark Ingram and the run.

This year ‘Bama is averaging 177 yards per game on the ground with Heisman winner Ingram and his more than competent backup, Trent Richardson, steam rolling opposing defenses between the tackles.  If these two are able to pick chunks of yardage the game will be over.

If you’re looking to play the NCAA odds on this game, put your money on ‘Bama.
