Friday NCAA Betting – Kansas vs. Southern Miss on ESPN

It was bounce back week for both Kansas and Southern Mississippi in NCAA betting last week. Kansas surprised Georgia Tech while Southern Miss routed Prairie View A&M. With both teams getting their first win of the season last week, this game in college football betting on ESPN figures to be very competitive on Friday night. Which Teams Show Up?  When you look at Kansas you see a team that lost their opener to North Dakota State but won in Week 2 against a Top 20 team in Georgia Tech.  With Southern Miss you have a team that was blown out by South Carolina in Week 1 but came back to beat Prairie View A&M in Week 2.  Which team shows up this week?

Southern Miss got blown out in Week 1 against South Carolina but that loss doesn’t look quite as bad now after South Carolina beat Georgia last week.  Southern Miss got some confidence last week and Deandre Brown scored the 27th TD of his career.

Kansas won their first game under new head coach Turner Gill last week.  It was a huge win for the Jayhawks after their opening loss to North Dakota State.  Kansas found a quarterback last week as redshirt freshman Jordan Webb played well. Webb was 24 of 40 for 238 yards and three touchdowns. Kansas has a true freshman at running back in James Sims. He had 101 yards on 17 attempts last week.

Ugly Trends for Both Teams – When you get ready to bet this game at SBG you have some ugly trends to consider for both teams.  The Jayhawks are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. Conference USA.  The Jayhawks are 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games overall. The Jayhawks are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games. The Golden Eagles are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games. The Golden Eagles are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games in September.

Trends Point to the Over – With these two offenses, betting the over in NCAA betting seems a little risky but that is what the trends point to.  The Over is 5-1 in the Jayhawks last 6 non-conference games. The Over is 7-3 in the Jayhawks last 10 road games.  The Over is 5-1 in the Golden Eagles last 6 non-conference games. The Over is 4-1 in the Golden Eagles last 5 games overall.
