NCAA Betting – Game of the Week is LSU at Auburn on CBS

The best matchup in NCAA betting this week is sixth-ranked LSU at fifth-ranked Auburn. Both teams come into the game undefeated and in national title contender.  The winner will remain in the discussion while the loser will be out. Auburn is a 5.5 point favorite in college football betting at Sbgglobal.

When you look at these two teams you will immediately like Auburn but somehow LSU will find a way to stay in this game.  LSU does just enough to win games, even against poor teams.  They seem to play up or down to their level of competition.  The LSU offense is wildly inconsistent with the two quarterback system of Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee.  The LSU defense is very good though and it normally keeps opponents from scoring many points. It will get a huge test this week from Auburn and Heisman Trophy candidate Cameron Newton.

Auburn’s Offense – Auburn scored 65 points last week against Arkansas.  Auburn is averaging 40 points per game and they have the most exciting quarterback in the country in Cameron Newton. He leads the SEC in rushing and he has 25 touchdowns running and passing combined.  It will be fun to watch Newton go up against LSU’s defense on Saturday.

High Scoring Game – You look at LSU’s offense and wonder how they will stay with Auburn in this game but somehow they will.  Auburn does not have a great defense and LSU will score some points.  This game should go over the total and be exciting to watch.

Side Trends – LSU is 4-1 against the point spread in their last 5 games as a road underdog. Auburn is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 conference games. LSU is 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings at Auburn
