The North Carolina State Wolfpack football program remains an unfulfilled expectation. At least in the eyes of its passionate fan base. Fans see the program as more than it actually is or ever was. The non-conference slate features a date at East Carolina and home games vs. Charleston Southern, Texas Tech, and UConn. Accordingly, each is a favorable matchup. The ACC slate includes trips to Clemson and North Carolina. But the Wolfpack gets nemesis Wake Forest at home.
Most important of all is the return of Devin Leary at quarterback. Under offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Tim Beck, Leary eliminated turnovers and became a winner. In sum, Leary was 283-of-431 passing for 3,433 yards, with 35 touchdowns and only five interceptions last year.
