The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers and UTSA Roadrunners are set to meet in the fifth edition of the Myrtle Beach Bowl. This will be the first-ever meeting between Coastal Carolina and UTSA. Since moving to FBS, the Chanticleers have competed in the Sun Belt Conference. In turn, the Roadrunners have been a member of the American Athletic Conference since 2023. Coastal Carolina clinched NCAA Football Betting Bowl eligibility for a fifth consecutive season. Now, UTSA is entering the Myrtle Beach Bowl for its fifth straight bowl game appearance. The Roadrunners put together a three-game winning streak in November.

In 2023, Rickey Hunt woke up edgy and nervous, having no idea he would soon have one of the best performances in Ohio football history. Hunt, a freshman, ran for four touchdowns and caught a fifth.
