If anyone doubts Louisville Cardinals head coach Jeff Brohm, they should look at his previous stops at Western Kentucky and Purdue. Brohm was 30-10 at WKU and led the Hilltoppers to a final ranking of 24th in 2015. At Purdue, he went 36-34, including 9-4 and 8-5 in his final two years. Consider that Purdue went to four bowl games in six seasons under Brohm and made the 2022 Big Ten championship game. For Purdue, that is as good as it can get. So far, it’s a successful NCAAF future odds homecoming for Louisville native son Jeff Brohm.

Initially, Jeff Brohm, the alum and former starting quarterback for the Cardinals, made a sports betting splash. The Ville made the 2023 ACC championship game with a 10-4 record, with a final national ranking of 19th. Next, in 2024, Brohm delivered a 9-4 record and Sun Bowl win. Understandably, Louisville fans are excited about the future following Brohm’s impressive success.
Louisville will have more talent and experience in Year 3 under coach Jeff Brohm. The returning players are more comfortable in his system. At the same time, the newcomers bring more talent to a team coming off consecutive bowl campaigns. The Cardinals appear to have what it takes to make a 2025 college football futures
Run to the ACC title game.
Assuming Florida State will be better, it’s a team to miss. Correlate that not having to play NC State this year will be good, not dealing with Georgia Tech is great, and not getting Syracuse isn’t a bad thing. Not facing Duke, Stanford, and Wake Forest is a rough break, though. James Madison is hardly a tap-in. However, the first three games are against Group of Five programs. Virginia, Boston College, and Cal should all be able to secure home dates to reach six wins and bowl eligibility without too much of an issue.
And then there’s a week off before going to Miami. And if SMU isn’t nearly as strong as it was last year, the last two road games against the Mustangs and Virginia Tech are winnable. Also, it helps that Kentucky has to come over to play.
Louisville Cardinals might be a bit of a sleeper with this schedule. Although we respect Pitt, and SMU did some fine work last year, the road games aren’t totally horrible. Louisville will be made if the home record isn’t at least 6-1 going into the Kentucky game. By contrast, even with a misfire along the way, 10-2 isn’t asking for the world, even if the final record is more like 9-3.
Louisville Team History
Nearly all the success enjoyed by the Louisville football program has taken place in the last two decades. Since 1998, the Cardinals have appeared in 16 of the program’s 21 bowl games, and they’ve had just two losing seasons in that span. The Cards have also been a member of four conferences in that stretch, but appear to have found a home in the ACC.
