The second-ranked Georgia Bulldogs open SEC play on the road Saturday in Fayetteville against Arkansas. The Razorbacks are still finding their footing under new coach Ryan Silverfield. Overall, Georgia is 2-0 after scoring 133 points in two home games, 63-3 over Tennessee State and 70-20 over Western Kentucky. The Bulldogs have not been tested, and this is their first road trip of the season. By contrast, Arkansas is 1-1 after a 31-14 College Football Odds win over North Alabama and a 43-10 loss at Utah last weekend.
Georgia’s offense has been overwhelming, averaging 66.5 points and nearly 580 yards. Gunner Stockton has been efficient, and the run game has piled up yards. Of great concern, Arkansas’s defense has not faced anything close to that level. Also, the Razorbacks’ offense stalled against Utah. The line has Georgia as a three-touchdown-plus favorite with a total around 54.5. That number reflects the gap more than any expectation of a close game.

Georgia Bulldogs at Arkansas Razorbacks Matchup Analysis
Georgia’s offense has been the best in the country through two weeks with an almost perfect quarterback. In addition to a run game that has worn teams down. Arkansas has not faced anything like that.
The Razorbacks allowed 43 points at Utah and their own offense produced only 10. The talent gap on both lines and at the skill positions is large enough that Georgia should control the game. Especially if it plays with any of the sharpness it showed at home.
Arkansas’s only real College Football Betting edges are the venue and the fact that this is Georgia’s first road game. Consider that Razorback Stadium can get loud. And Kirby Smart’s teams have occasionally started slowly away from Athens. That is the path for Arkansas to get a cover or a respectable loss.
In sum, Arkansas must make Georgia drive the length of the field and force a couple of early mistakes. Also, they must keep the home fans yelling into the second quarter. But if Georgia scores on its first two or three possessions, the game turns into a matter of how many backups get snaps.
The 24-and-a-half-point spread is a statement number. More emphatically, Georgia has covered both games so far. Arkansas has not covered either.
The Razorbacks do not have to stop Georgia cold to keep it interesting. Instead, they have to stay within two scores long enough for the home crowd to matter. In addition to needing Georgia to get a little sloppy with the lead. Anything less and the Bulldogs’ depth and efficiency should turn this into another lopsided afternoon.
The matchup on paper is indeed Georgia’s to control. The only question is how much of that control they choose to use on the road in their first conference game.

Georgia as a 24-and-a-half-point road favorite is a large number, but the Bulldogs have covered both games and have scored 133 points in two weeks. Arkansas has not covered either of its first two and just got routed by Utah. Arkansas’s offense looked lost at Utah. So the over needs the Razorbacks to hang around long enough to add some garbage-time scoring or for Georgia to stay aggressive. Not likely.
