Brent Venables walked into a firestorm upon being named the head coach of the Oklahoma Sooners. Venables built a stellar reputation as one of the nation’s top defensive coordinators at Oklahoma and later at Clemson. Cause by that performance, he was one of the hottest prospects on the coaching carousel. Venables turned down several head coaching jobs to stay at Clemson.
