A Date with Violence: FSU-Clemson NCAA Football Betting

Clemson Tigers vs. Florida State Seminoles NCAA Football Betting

The Clemson Tigers are NCAA football betting favorites against the Florida State Seminoles, but the latter are “finding ourselves right now, and we can be a very dangerous team going forward,” said Florida State cornerback Levonta Taylor. Let’s just hope, for the sake of civilians, that, unlike offensive lineman Josh Ball, they will keep the violence within the football field. While the Tigers remain in College Football Playoff contention, the Sems are shooting for a sixth straight bowl game to salvage their season.

The best of all possible Florida States

The Seminoles have won just three games this season and don’t know what covering a spread is, but Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney is sure he’ll see “the very best version of Florida State this week.” FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher has “done an unbelievable job,” Swinney said. “They’ve won a national championship. They’ve been in another playoff. They’ve been one of the best teams. This year is not indicative of the job he’s done.” Florida State is 1-6 SU and 2-5 ATS in its last seven trips to Death Valley, but Clemson has won just three of their last 14 November games. Additionally, the Noles are 7-2 ATS in their last nine games in November, 0-3-2 ATS in their last five following an ATS loss, 0-5-2 ATS in their last seven ACC games, and 0-3-2 ATS when playing a team with a winning record, while the Tigers are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five games after an ATS loss, 3-11 ATS in the last 14 in November, 2-8 ATS when playing a team with a losing record, and 0-3 1 against the NCAA football betting spread in the last four ACC games.

Clemson ain’t playing for software

“Every week, we’re playing for something big,” Clemson defensive end Clelin Ferrell said. This week, the ACC Atlantic Division and a spot in the ACC championship game.

“We’re playing for something,” quarterback Kelly Bryant added. “We’re playing for hardware.” One would be tempted to say that the Tigers are playing for keeps, except that they don’t seem concerned about covering the spread, which they haven’t done since late September. Then again, it isn’t their own money they’re leaving on the table, especially at home. Clemson is 28-1 SU in the last 29 home games, but is 0-2-1 ATS this season at Memorial Stadium. Similarly, the total has gone over in three of Florida State’s last four visits to Clemson, but neither team has been trading that way lately. The Seminoles are averaging just 13.25 points per game – with a 2-2 SU and 0-3-1 ATS record – on the road. Furthermore, their 28 points against Louisville is the most they’ve scored in a game this year and one of just two times the NCAA football betting total has gone over in one of their contests. Clemson, meanwhile, just snapped, against NC State on Saturday, a five-game under streak.
