College Football Bet – Arkansas at Mississippi State on ESPN

Two high scoring SEC teams meet on Saturday so gamblers might be making a college football bet on the over when Mississippi State hosts Arkansas. The game is on ESPN and everyone loves to bet the over in a TV game.  The Razorbacks are slight favorites in college football betting in what should be an exciting game to watch.

Arkansas -3, total 52.5 at Sbgglobal
The Razorbacks are road favorites in this contest since they have the high profile quarterback in Ryan Mallett.  Another reason that Arkansas is favored is due in some part to Mississippi State getting routed last week by Alabama.  The Bulldogs did not play well last week and neither Chris Relf nor Tyler Russell did much.  The Bulldogs do have a good running back though in Vac Ballard who has rushed for 699 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Ryan Mallett
The Arkansas quarterback has thrown for 4,167 yards with 33 touchdowns this season.  Running back Knile Davis has rushed for 901 yards and 10 touchdowns this season.  Mallett has a good receiver in Greg Childs who has caught 82 balls for 1,097 yards and 12 touchdowns. Arkansas has averaged 37.9 points per game this season.

Mississippi State gave up 30 points last week to Alabama and it could be that the Bulldogs have hit the wall.  Mississippi State may not have much success on defense this week either against the high scoring Hogs.  The Bulldogs can score though as they are averaging 26.3 points and 374.8 yards per game.

Home Team Series
The home team has done very well in this series which is good news if you want to bet Mississippi State.  The underdog is also a good bet as the dog has covered in 11 of the last 15.  Normally that would point to a cover for Mississippi State but the Razorbacks are hot as they are 8-1 against the college football betting odds in their last 9 conference games.  Betting over the total does look good with a college football bet as the Over is 5-0 in the Razorbacks last 5 games overall. In this series, four of the last five have gone over.  ESPN picked this game for Saturday night and it looks like it should be competitive and high scoring.
