Auburn Favored vs. Oregon in College Football Betting Lines

Auburn Favored vs. Oregon in College Football Betting Lines.  Monday’s National Championship game has Auburn a three-point favorite in college football betting lines against Oregon. It is expected to be a shootout with the total in college football odds listed at 74.  ESPN will be televising the most anticipated game of the college football season.

Unbeaten Teams
Both Oregon and Auburn come into the game unbeaten.  Even though TCU also finished unbeaten there is no debate that Oregon and Auburn are the two best teams in the country.  Cam Newton won the Heisman Trophy and leads a potent Auburn offense while LaMichael James leads an Oregon offense that scored more points than any other team in the country. It is a fantastic matchup on Monday.

Is the Total Too Low?
You will see the total of 74 in college football odds and think that the number is sky high at Sbgglobal but could it be too low?  Oregon averaged 49.3 points per game which led the country.  Auburn was the sixth highest team in the country at 42.7 points per game.  Both teams were in the top 10 in total offense.  Oregon and Auburn are decent on defense but neither is known for how well they stop other teams.  You have a couple of different options if you believe this is going to be a high scoring game.  You could just play the total as it stands at 74 or you could wait for the halftime line.  It should be noted that Oregon is a huge second half team and taking the second half line over the total could be a great choice.

Darron Thomas
While Cam Newton and LaMichael James get much of the attention the player that could decide Monday’s game is Oregon quarterback Darron Thomas.  He threw for 2,518 yards and 28 TDs while rushing for 492 and five touchdowns.  Auburn’s defense doesn’t scare anyone and they are not going to stop Oregon.  It could be that Thomas has a huge game and is the player that gives Oregon the edge.
