College Football BCS Bowl games

College football BCS games are the most popular college football games of the season. The most important of these college football BCS games is the National Championship Game on January 7th between Ohio State and LSU.College football BCS games involve a number of quality teams in addition to the Buckeyes and Tigers.  The Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day matches up unbeaten Hawaii versus red-hot Georgia.  The Rose Bowl has Illinois facing USC.  BCS college football action continues on January 2nd with the Fiesta Bowl as Oklahoma takes on West Virginia.  Another one of the BCS bowl games is on January 3rd as Kansas takes on Virginia Tech in the Orange Bowl.

The college football BCS system left out 11-2 Missouri despite the fact they beat Kansas in the regular season.  The Tigers will face Darren McFadden and Arkansas in the Cotton Bowl on New Year’s Day.  Also on New Year’s Day is the Gator Bowl as Virginia faces Texas Tech.  College football BCS action on New Year’s Day also includes the Capital One Bowl as Florida takes on Michigan.  The Outback Bowl has Wisconsin facing Tennessee as the first game on New Year’s Day.

The best bowl game may be the National Championship game between LSU and Ohio State.  Both teams have excellent head coaches, solid defenses and efficient offenses.  Another game that should be excellent is the Cotton Bowl.  Missouri got cheated out of a BCS bowl game but they have an exciting offense led by Chase Daniel and they face Heisman Trophy candidate Darren McFadden and Arkansas.  The Fiesta Bowl should also be entertaining as two powerful offenses hook up as Oklahoma faces West Virginia.

There are a total of 32 bowl games for teams from college football BCS conferences.  That means 64 teams made it to a bowl this season including teams with .500 records like UCLA, Oklahoma State, Maryland, California, Alabama, Colorado and Nevada.  When there are 32 bowl games for college football BCS teams there will always be undeserving teams with .500 records.
