Above all, it was a dream season unlike almost any other in history for LSU. To show, the Tigers finished 15-0 and dominated Clemson in a 42-25 win in the national championship game. However, mass departures of players and key coaches will make a repeat difficult. So too will playing in the Southeastern Conference. Ohio State Buckeyes
Ohio State’s 29-23 loss to Clemson in the college football playoff was highly controversial. Late officiating calls certainly failed to go the Buckeyes way. However, it’s also true that Ohio State had the opportunity to bury Clemson early and failed. But make no mistake that head coach Ryan Day’s team will reload. OSU has clearly been the class of the Big Ten and there are no signs of that changing. Specifically, Day toned down the drama of the Urban Meyer era. And recruiting has been every bit as good if not better.
Alabama Crimson Tide
Namely, Tua Tagovailoa is gone and a quarterback competition will be the big story from Tuscaloosa. Speaking of recruiting rankings few programs have been as consistently top tier as Crimson Tide for the past decade-plus. Head coach Nick Saban’s high turnover rate with assistant coaches may be slowing down the machine a bit.
Georgia Bulldogs
On the whole Kirby Smart has taken UGA up a notch since taking over as head coach in 2016. Smart is starting to catch heat for his offenses that have lacked the dynamic flavor of LSU, Clemson, and Alabama. As a result, Smart has vowed to reform the attack for the 2020 season. The question is if he actually will. The departure of conventional style quarterback Jake Fromm may help in the offensive transition.
LSU Tigers
Increasingly a repeat looks like a daunting task for Ed Orgeron’s; LSU program. Simply too many key players and coaches have left. Among them are Burrow, and both coordinators. LSU has recruited well but Orgeron may need a year to get his team in sync.
Oregon Ducks
Starting with their Rose Bowl win over Wisconsin is Oregon a team to watch. Head coach Mario Cristobal has loaded the roster with the best players in the Pac 12. Oregon may well prove to be the College Football Betting sleeper for 2020. Owing to that the Ducks likely offer the best value.
