Clemson at Georgia Tech College Football Betting

College football betting has been very competitive when Clemson and Georgia Tech get together. In fact, in the last 13 years this series has been the most competitive NCAA football betting series in the ACC.  That should make for a great ESPN televised game on Thursday night. College football betting at the sportsbook has Georgia Tech as a 4.5 point favorite in Thursday’s matchup. 10 of the last 13 games in this college football betting series have been decided by five points or less.  From 1996 to 2001 every game was decided by exactly three points. Last year it was Georgia Tech winning 21-17 in NCAA football betting.  The last time Clemson won was in 2006 as James Davis and C.J. Spiller combined for 332 yards rushing and four touchdowns in the 31-7 Clemson win. Clemson enters this year’s NCAA football betting game in Atlanta coming off a 37-14 win over Middle Tennessee.

This is the 57th ACC season in NCAA football betting. Clemson has a 35-20-1 record in its previous 56 ACC openers. Clemson has won eight of its last 10 ACC college football betting openers. The only two losses have been by two points or less, a 26-24 loss to Virginia in 2001 and a 34-33 loss at Boston College in double overtime in 2006. Clemson is 15-10-1 on the road and 1-0 at neutral sites in ACC college football betting openers.

This is a short rest week for Clemson since they played a Saturday night game at home against Middle Tennessee. Clemson won its last time in this situation, defeating Louisiana Monroe just five days after beating Florida State in the opener of the 2007 season. Red-shirt freshman Kyle Parker started the college football betting season strongly last week going nine of twenty for 159 yards and two scores. Parker was the first Clemson freshman to lead the Tigers to victory as starting quarterback since Charlie Whitehurst led Clemson to a victory over South Carolina in the final regular season game of 2002.

College football betting stats indicate that the Tigers are 4-1 in college football betting in their last 5 games overall. The Tigers are 3-8 in college football betting in their last 11 Thursday games. The Tigers are 2-8 against the college football betting odds vs. a team with a winning record.

The Yellow Jackets are 4-0 against the sportsbook spread in their last 4 games in September. The Yellow Jackets are 5-2-1 against the college football betting line in their last 8 conference games. The Yellow Jackets are 7-3-1 against the sports book number in their last 11 games overall.
