CFP Betting Preview – Clemson vs. Alabama

With the 2015-16 NCAA Football Season coming to an end we have the Final CFP betting Game on Monday Night the 11th of January 2016 with the No.1 Clemson Tigers, playing the No. 2 Alabama Crimson Tide with the game being played at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. The game kick-off is scheduled for 8:35 PM ET, and seen on ESPN TV.

Yes fans if you Bet on College football at SBG Sportsbook, the Tigers and the Crimson Tide have remained the favorites all season, so it’s fitting that they play for this 2016 National Championship playoff game. The Tigers with a win would complete the season undefeated, but remember they face a very strong and dominant defense with the Alabama Crimson Tide who shutout in the Cotton Bowl the Spartans of Michigan Stage in that semifinal CFP betting game.

For the fans of the 13-1 Alabama Crimson Tide (SEC) surely you know your teams defense has been incredible in this 2015 season, and that became noticeable early on as they stopped the LSU Heisman candidate RB L. Fournette only allowing his some 32 yards on 19 carries in that game. Then in the Tide’s proximate 9 games they held their opponents to 16 points or less each game, and then it became clear about their defensive dominance as the shutout the No. 3 Spartans of Michigan State in the Cotton Bowl 38-0. Remember in their last 2 games against the Gators of Florida and the Spartans of Michigan State they only allowed 45 rushing yards in those 2 games this season.

Yes against the Spartans, the Tide defense was dominating and surprising, the Tide passing game did come as a surprise. Since the Spartans seem to stop the Alabama running game, their QB J. Coker stepped in and had a great game as he passed for 288 yards completing 25 of his 30 pass attempts and for 2 touchdowns. Both passing touchdowns went to WR C. Ridley a freshman who had 8 receptions for 138 yards and the 2 touchdowns in the game.

The Tide will still look to their running game even after their Heisman RB D. Henry was limited to just 20 carries for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns in the semifinal game, and with their passing game soaring the Tide should have advantage in this final game. Then remember that Coach N. Saban for Alabama is seeking his 5th National Title and to date in these National Championship games he is with 4 wins and 0 losses.

The fans of the 14-0 No. 1 Clemson Tigers (ACC) made the oddsmakers look foolish making them the underdogs against the No. 4 Sooners of Oklahoma, but the Tigers then just outplayed the Sooners and were victorious winning the game 37-17 last week.

The Clemson QB D. Watson a Heisman finalist looked good as the sophomore passed for 293 yards and rushed for some 146 and was responsible for 2 touchdowns in the game. Then take note that the defense of Clemson put a lot of pressure on the Sooners QB B. Mayfield and limited his success, as well as on the Sooners running game only accumulated some 67 yards in the game. That’s a running offense that in 7 previous games they came close to averaging 300 yards in each of those 7 games. Their QB’s strong performance and their defensive action should be the reason the Clemson Tigers win this Title game and the 2nd in school history.

In the past the Tide defense had displayed a weakness against a spread offense and a QB that is very mobile has allowed the Tigers to do very well in this 2015 season, as in their ultimate 6 games QB Watson averaged each game some 108 yards rushing each game and accumulated 5 rushing touchdowns for the season.

Defensively the Tigers should be encouraged since the Spartans of Michigan State were able to slow the running game of Alabama and their Heisman winner RB D. Henry. Clemson has a defense that could equal that effort, plus they have a very talented secondary with star CG M. Alexander who has the talent and ability to decrease Alabama’s chances of making big passing gains in this game.

The sports betting prediction for this 2016 CFP Championship Game is that the Crimson Tide and their dominate defense prove to be too much for the Clemson Tigers as the shut down the Tigers QB Watson, and Bama’s RB Henry and QB Coker provide the offensive power to be victorious in this game with a 27-17 win and a National Title again!
