At the onset of the 2019 season, South Florida head coach Charlie Strong is feeling the heat. Strong may not quite be on the hot seat but it’s getting warm. Entering his third season at USF Strong has betting on college football record of 17-8. Of great concern was the Bulls epic collapse to end the 2018 season. USF got off to a 7-0 start one year ago. However, they went into free fall with five consecutive losses to end the campaign. Worst of all their defense ranked an abysmal 104th in the nation overall.

Taylor ran for over 1900 yards in each of the last two seasons. He is a top tier Heisman Trophy candidate. Meanwhile, Coan is expected to cut down on the interceptions of departed QB Alex Hornibrook.
A Strong Challenge
Namely, the new offensive coordinator Kevin Bell has been hired to ignite an inconsistent offense. Bell won a Division II national title at Valdosta State. USF has as much or more talent as any Group of Five programs. Accordingly, this is a make or break season for Strong.
