Bet College Football – Vandy Laying Big Points vs. Eastern Michigan on ESPN U

Vanderbilt is laying big points on Saturday in an ESPN U televised contest but it probably won’t matter as gamblers who bet college football are going to lay the points against Eastern Michigan. There are some reasons for caution though if you are taking Vandy in NCAA betting.

Vanderbilt could be without their best defensive player on Saturday and that is always concern for worry if you are laying points.  Junior middle linebacker Chris Marve has a meniscus tear and will probably miss this contest. Marve is a first-team All-SEC player and is tied for second in the conference with 39 tackles. If he doesn’t play it is a huge loss for Vandy. The Commodores are already hurting on defense as T.J. Greenstone is still out at defensive tackle.

Vandy Laying 26 Points at Sbg Global – The Commodores are laying almost four touchdowns in this game. This is the first time this season that Vanderbilt has even been favored and they are laying big points.

Eastern Michigan is Winless – The Eagles are not a good team.  That much we know but they are getting almost four TDs and Vandy is not that great.  The question is whether or not Eastern Michigan shows up.  They covered their first two games of the season and played pretty well. They have not played well in recent weeks in losses to Central Michigan, Ohio State and Ohio. If they put out a reasonable effort they can cover this spread against Vandy but if they just mail it in then Vandy can cover.

Bad Trends – The Eagles are 9-27 ATS in their last 36 non-conference games but the Commodores are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. the MAC. Vandy is a terrible favorite as they are 9-23 ATS in their last 32 games as a favorite.
The Commodores are 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games.  If you are looking at playing the total as you bet college football then there are some numbers to consider. The Under is 6-1 in the Commodores last 7 games as a home favorite. The Under is 12-2 in the Commodores last 14 games in October. The Under is 16-5-1 in the Commodores last 22 home games. Looks like it could be a low scoring game on Saturday based on those numbers.
