Bet College Football – Stanford favored at California

The Big Game takes place for the 113th time on Saturday as gamblers can bet college football as California plays host to Stanford. The Cardinal is favored by a touchdown in NCAA betting at Sbg global.com in this long-time rivalry game with the total listed at 51.5.

Stanford 9-1 SU, 5-4-1 ATS
The Cardinal has lost just once this season and that was against top-ranked Oregon.  Stanford is rolling on offense at 9th in the country led by quarterback Andrew Luck. He should have a lot of success in this game against a poor California defense. The Cardinal really didn’t play that well last week but got a win against Arizona State. They should be very focused this week after that poor effort.

California 5-5 SU, 6-4 ATS
The Bears are just 5-5 in what has been a disappointing season.  The defense for California is only average and the offense is poor.  The Bears are even worse now than they were earlier this season. Starting quarterback Kevin Riley is out for the seasons with a knee injury and backup Brock Mansion is simply not ready to play.

The only thing that gives California a chance is their head coach Jeff Tedford who is 7-1 in his career against Stanford.  It helps that California is at home but the Bears are outmanned on both sides of the ball. Unless California plays a great defensive game they are not going to win against Stanford.

Game Facts
This may be a long-time rivalry game but California could easily have a letdown this week after just barely losing last week against Oregon. It is tough to get sky high for two straight games so it will be tough for the Bears this week. Stanford has been solid on the road as they are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games as a road favorite. The Bears though have been good at home but looking deeper we find that the Bears are just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games as a home underdog.

Under the Total
The only chance for Cal is to keep this game low scoring so the game should go under the total for those that bet college football.  It helps that the Under is 4-1 in Stanford’s last 5 road games and that the Under is 9-3 in the Bears last 12 conference games. The Under is 6-2 in the last 8 meetings between the two teams.
