Bet on College Football: Michigan State Spartans Vs. Cornhuskers

Michigan State Spartans vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers

While Michigan State may have a superior bet on College Football record to Nebraska they do not impress.  In particular the Spartans offense is among the worst in college football.  Terrible quarterbacking play has prevented MSU from contending in the East Division.  In contrast Nebraska is recovering from a terrible start.  Increasingly their improvement is coming at a rapid rate. Although a bowl game is out of the question the Huskers will be a favorite to take the West Division next year.  Extending that optimism is the leadership of head coach Scott Frost.  Nebraska is rapidly climbing upward!

Nebraska Cornhuskers

Nebraska is 3-7 straight up and 4-5-1 vs. the line with six of their games going over the total.  However, the Huskers have won three of their last four games.  Additionally, Nebraska has lost just one of their last six against the board.  Last week the Big Red scored a 54-35 home payout over Illinois.  Freshman sensation Adrian Martinez has emerged as a bona fide quarterback.  Fashion his 290 yards passing with three touchdowns against Illinois.  Devine Ozigbo added 162 yards rushing with three touchdowns in the win.  Ozigbo now has 958 rushing yards with 7.5 yards per carry.

Michigan State Spartans

Michigan State is 6-4 straight up but 4-6 against the odds with six games going under the total.  Last week the Spartans were outmatched in a 26-6 home loss to Ohio State.  In brief an offense that ranks 119th nationally for scoring has been a drag.  Indeed, Sparty ranks 17th for scoring defense and it’s gone to waste.  Concurrently neither Brian Lewerke nor Rocky Lombardi has stood out as quarterback.  MSU is averaging only 6.27 yards per pass attempt.  Furthermore, Sparty has a weak 11/10 touchdown to interception ratio.

Stats to Consider

Michigan State has been a solid bet on College Football road play value recently.  For example, Sparty has paid in four of their last five getting points on the road.  Four of their last six in that role have gone under the total.  Counter to that is Nebraska’s poor value at Memorial Stadium lately.  To illuminate the Big Red have covered just two of their last 13 games at home.  Three of their last five at Memorial Stadium have gone under the total.

Team vs. Team

Head to head Nebraska has dominated this sportsbook series with the Spartans.  As a matter of face the Huskers have paid in six of their last seven games with Michigan State.  Three of the last four between these teams have gone over the total.  Additionally, at Memorial Stadium the Huskers have covered two of their last three with the Spartans.  Two of those games went over the total.

Matchup to Watch

Cause by momentum and recent form does Nebraska own the bet on College Football matchup advantage.  Martinez and Ozigbo are a tandem the Spartans can’t match offensively.  Conversely the Huskers defense is subpar but MSU lacks the firepower to take advantage.  Senior Day should be a happy one in Lincoln.
