Navy Midshipmen vs. Army Black Knights

Army Black Knights

The Black Knights boasts a betting on college football record of 9-2 straight up, 6-4-1 vs. the odds, and 6-5 over the total.  Last time out the Cadets beat Colgate 28-14 for a home payout.  Due to the nation’s second ranked rushing offense does Army have an effective attack.  On the whole the option offense has proven to be a devastating weapon for the Black Knights.  By reason of the offense is the defense complimented.  Overall the Black Knights rank 11th in the country for total defense.  Additionally, Monken has proven to be the perfect fit as head coach.

Navy Midshipmen

For the first time since 2011 Navy will have a losing record and not go bowling.  Presently the Midshipmen have an offshore betting record of 3-9 straight up, 4-8 against the odds, and 7-5 over the total.  Last game for Navy was a 29-28 loss at Tulane in the final moments.  It proved to be emblematic of the Midshipmen’s miserable season.  In comparison to Army is a Navy option ground attack that ranks third nationally.  Counter to that is a defense that ranks 109th in the country for points allowed.

Stats to Consider

Army has been a solid betting value on the road.  For example, the Black Knights have covered seven of their last 10 away from home.  Additionally, Army has gone over the total in four of their last five games away from home.  Balanced against that is Navy’s subpar betting value in away games.  The Midshipmen have paid in only five of their last 13 road tilts.  And five of their last seven away matchups have gone over the total.

Team vs. Team

Army has dominated the cashier’s cage in their series with Navy.  In fact, the Black Knights have come away with the cash in six of the last seven meetings between these teams.  And the Army Navy Game has gone under the total 12 straight times.

Matchup to Watch

Certainly, Army has the betting on college football matchup edge with the vastly superior defense.  It follows that Navy’s implosion is based in large part on their lack of defense.  In like manner it is good to recall Army’s performance at Oklahoma this season.  In particular the Black Knights lost in overtime 28-21 to the powerful Sooners.
