Aggies to Show Bet on College Football Improvement for 2019

2019 Texas A&M Aggies Futures

At the onset of his arrival Jimbo Fisher has changed the bet on college football expectations at Texas A&M. Kevin Sumlin’s program hit a serious rut after his initial 11-2 season in 2012. Looking back that Aggies team was lightning in a bottle with Johnny Manziel. In the five seasons that followed the Aggies never again posted double digit wins. Further, they developed the reputation for being soft. Fisher began his impressive cultural revolution with a 9-4 record in 2018. Recruiting has gone gangbusters. As have the dreams of Aggie fans. Decidedly more gamblers are taking a serious look.

A Strong Start

A clear difference could immediately be seen at Texas A&M in 2018. Consider the week two 28-26 home loss to eventual national champion Clemson. It was a bet on college football payout that the 12-point dog Aggies should have won. Regardless the matchup proved A&M could stand up to the best teams in the land. Texas A&M paid out in nine of their 13 games. Moist important of all they closed strong with a 74-72 multiple overtime win over LSU. Fisher laid a strong foundation for the future. A tough schedule is the Aggies biggest 2019 obstacle.

The Hard Road for 2019

Of great concern for Texas A&M is their daunting online betting schedule for 2019. A home game against Alabama on October 12 will tell much. But road games at Clemson, Georgia and LSU will make or break the season. As a matter of fact, Georgia and LSU comprise the final two games of the year. Theoretically the Aggies could be an improved team with a worse record in 2019.

Not Without Weapons

Above all the Aggies will have their share of impact players that can help the negotiate that schedule. Quarterback Kellen Mond threw for 3107 yards and 29 touchdowns last year. While the receiving corps is proven the running back position is not. Running back Trayveon Williams has taken his talents, 1760 yards rushing with 18 touchdowns to the NFL. Sophomore Jashaun Corbin is the likely replacement for Williams. Quartney Davis returns after catching 45 passes for seven touchdowns in 2018. Another huge hole is left by departed All American tight end Jace Sternberger.

Half a Defense Aims for Completion

Last season saw the Aggies rank a rock ribbed third for rushing yards allowed. Offsetting that was a pass defense that ranked 98th in the country. Second year defensive coordinator Mike Elko aims to make the unit a complete asset. Defensive tackle Justin Madubuike is the only front seven starter that returns. The linebacking corps is very inexperienced. Five freshmen will get the chance to win starting jobs. On the whole Fisher’s elite recruiting may be what fixes the defense.

Matchup to Watch

In this situation the bet on college football matchup against Alabama will be the ultimate matchup test. Texas A&M has the financial and fan support to compete with anyone in the country. Yet they have not been a true national power. Fisher won and national title at Florida State. To be exact that’s why he was hired at College Station.

Bet on College Football Picks

Summing up that schedule will be too much too soon for this young program.
