2007-2008 College Bowl Games

College Bowl Games for the 2007-2008 season begin with the Poinsettia Bowl on December 20th as Utah takes on Navy. There are a total of 32 NCAA Bowl Games including the National Championship game between Ohio State and LSU on Monday, January 7th. College Bowl Games attract a huge amount of interest from fans and gamblers around the world.  The most popular College Football Bowl Games are the BCS games.  They are the BCS National Championship, the Rose Bowl, the Sugar Bowl, the Orange Bowl and the Fiesta Bowl.  The Rose Bowl is known as the granddaddy of all NCAA Bowl Games and this year will matchup USC versus Illinois.

The Sugar Bowl is also on New Year’s Day and will have Hawaii taking on Georgia.  The Fiesta Bowl is played on January 2nd and should be one of the better NCAA Bowl Games as Oklahoma takes on West Virginia.  The Orange Bowl is played on January 3rd and will have Kansas taking on Virginia Tech. There are also NCAA Bowl Games in between the Orange Bowl and the BCS Title game.  They are probably the least attractive of the NCAA Bowl Games but they are weekend games and may get some attention.  The two games are the International Bowl on Saturday, January 5th between Rutgers and Ball State and the GMAC Bowl on Sunday, January 6th between Bowling Green and Tulsa.

NCAA Bowl Games that really should be worth watching in addition to the BCS College Football Bowl Games are the Cotton Bowl on New Year’s Day between Missouri and West Virginia.  This game matches two of the Heisman Trophy runner-ups in Chase Daniel and Darren McFadden.  Another game that is always one of the better College Bowl Games is the Holiday Bowl.  It will be played on December 27th and matches Arizona State and Texas.  The first of the NCAA Bowl Games on New Year’s Day may also be entertaining as Wisconsin faces Tennessee in the Outback Bowl.  The other College Football Bowl Games on New Year’s Day in addition to the ones already mentioned are the Capital One Bowl between Michigan and Florida and the Gator Bowl between Texas Tech and Virginia.

The highest pointspread in the NCAA Bowl Games is in the Rose Bowl as USC is a 13.5 point favorite against Illinois.  The lowest pointspread of any of the College Football Bowl Games is in the Music City Bowl on New Year’s Eve as Kentucky takes on Florida State.  The Wildcats are a 1.5 point favorite.
