Auburn Tigers
Head coach Bruce Pearl has built the Auburn basketball program into a consistent national contender. Correlate that this season was one of the best in program history. Auburn posted an offshore betting record of 27-3 straight up and 18-12 agaisnt the spread. Auburn got the cash in seven of its most recent 11 games. The Tigers went over the total in five of their last six outings. Auburn ranked 6th in the nation for scoring offense. Namely, Johni Broome dominated as one of the nation’s top players. Broome averaged 18.0 points and 10.7 rebounds per game.
Florida Gators
Few teams were as surprising with the College basketball odds as the Florida Gators. Most important of all, Florida was 26-4 straight up and 22-8 agaisnt the spread. Florida finished strong with nine payouts in its final 11 games. In like manner to Auburn, the Gators ranked 9th for scoring offense. Todd Golden has emerged as one of the top head coaches in the game.
Alabama Crimson Tide
Head coach Nate Oats is continuing his transformation of the Alabama basketball program into a nationally elite operation. Alabama was 23-7 straight up and 17-13 agaisnt the spread. Of great concern are the extremes that the Crimson Tide plays with. Alabama ranks 1st for scoring offense but 352nd for points allowed. Can a team win championships with no defense?
Tennessee Volunteers
Head coach Rick Barnes has the Volunteers in the hunt each year and is aiming for his first Final Four with Tennessee. Naturally, the Volunteers rank 7th in the nation for points allowed. Tennessee ranks a modest 161st out of 351 Division 1 teams for scoring offense. The Vols went under the total in 18 games.
Texas A&M Aggies
The Texas A&M Aggies hired Buzz Williams to make them into a perennial contender. So far, Williams has delivered. Texas A&M is 21-9 straight up and 15-13-2 agaisnt the spread. Texas A&M went under the total in 18 games.
Missouri Tigers
Although they do not draw the attention of bigger brands, the Missouri Tigers are a team that offers decent betting value. Mizzou was 21-9 straight up and 17 agaisnt the spread. Mizzou went over the total 18 times. Overall, Mizzou ranks 7th for scoring offense and 201st for points allowed.
Ole Miss Rebels
In just two seasons, head coach Chris Beard has made the Rebels into a March Madness contender. Ole Miss is 21-9 straight up and 15-14-1 agaisnt the spread. Of major concern is that Ole Miss covered only two of its most recent 12 games.
Kentucky Wildcats
First-year head coach Mark Pope had a decent showing. Although Kentucky ranked 3rd in the nation for scoring offense they were a dismal 310th for points allowed.
