Texas at Connecticut College Basketball Betting

December 1, 2010 NCAA Basketball

College basketball betting on Saturday should be interesting as top-ranked Kansas goes on the road to face Connecticut.

The Longhorns are coming off their first loss of the season as they were beaten on Monday at Kansas State in NCAA basketball betting.  Connecticut has not played well of late and they need to show the country they are still worthy of being in the national title discussion.

College basketball betting has this game being televised on CBS on Saturday. Texas will be trying to rebound after suffering their first defeat of the season.  Texas played well on defense against Kansas State but their offense was terrible. The Longhorns shot just 36 percent from the field and in their last two games they have not shot the ball well. "We definitely played well enough defensively to win this game, but offensively, in the last two games, it’s hurt us," Texas coach Rick Barnes said. Texas didn’t seem ready to go in a hostile environment at Kansas State and they can’t make the same mistake again on Saturday if they expect to win in college basketball betting at Connecticut.

The Huskies need this win more than the Longhorns. It is not a conference game for either team but it is critical to Connecticut in terms of their confidence level. They need to prove they can beat a top team. They at least need to prove they can stay with Texas in college basketball betting.  Before Monday’s college basketball betting loss, Texas had the 2nd ranked offense in all of college basketball. Damion James leads them in scoring and he normally is the player who impacts the NCAA basketball betting results the most for Texas.

Connecticut is simply not very good on offense or defense. Jerome Dyson is definitely a player who can impact college basketball betting but there is not a lot behind him.  Connecticut couldn’t handle Georgetown or Pittsburgh so it will be interesting to see how they matchup against Texas in this college basketball betting game. Before Wednesday’s game against St. John’s, Connecticut was just 6-9 against the NCAA basketball betting point spread this season. They were a very poor 3-6 against the college basketball betting odds at home.  Texas is 7-7 overall against the point spread this season but they have not done well on the road, going 0-4 against the NCAA basketball betting odds.
