Texas at Arkansas NCAA Basketball Betting

December 1, 2010 NCAA Basketball

It will be the 152nd meeting between Texas and Arkansas and the Razorbacks hold an 86-65 lead in the all-time series.

Last season, Arkansas upset Texas 67-61 in college basketball betting when the Longhorns were ranked #7.

NCAA basketball betting favors Texas as they have been rolling along this season. They are 13-0 straight up and a profitable 7-2 against the college basketball betting odds.  Texas has won 12 of their 13 contests by double-digit margins. Six of the 13 wins have been by at least 30 points.  It is the first time since 1981-82 season that Texas has started 13-0. The Longhorns have a way to go to set the school record though.  The 1923-24 team ended the season at 23-0.

Texas did not play well last time out but still won against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi. Damion James recorded a double-double for the fourth consecutive game while Dexter Pittman reached double figures in scoring for the 10th time this year. Texas has been winning this NCAA basketball betting season with defense. In their first 13 games, they have held opponents to an average of just 59.6 points per game.

Arkansas is 7-7 straight up this season and 2-4 against the NCAA basketball betting line.  The Razorbacks are 2-1 versus the college basketball betting line at home.  The problem for Arkansas in NCAA basketball betting has been their defense that has been abysmal this season. They are giving up 71.4 points per game this season and that is a major problem against a talented Texas team.

The Longhorns are 9-2 vs. NCAA basketball betting lines in their last 11 games overall. Texas has struggled though against the SEC. The Longhorns are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 NCAA basketball betting games vs. the SEC.  Texas also has struggled in road games as they are 2-6-1 vs. NCAA basketball betting odds in their last 9 road games.

Arkansas has had very little success against the Big 12. The Razorbacks are 5-16 in NCAA basketball betting in their last 21 vs. the Big 12. The Razorbacks are 2-7 vs. the NCAA basketball betting pointspread in their last 9 games overall.

Five of the last seven Texas road games have gone over in NCAA basketball betting. Four of the last five Arkansas home games have gone over in college basketball betting.
