Talented Wildcats Favored in March Madness Betting

Talented Wildcats Favored in March Madness Betting. March Madness betting favors second seed Kansas State on Thursday as they face fifth seed Xavier in the Sweet Sixteen. It is the first time the Wildcats have been to the Sweet Sixteen since 1988.  It is no fluke either as the Wildcats are very talented and a threat to win it all in March Madness lines.

March Madness betting odds list Kansas State as a five-point favorite on Thursday against Xavier.  That line might be a little low considering how well Kansas State is playing.   The Wildcats have an excellent duo of guards in Jacob Pullen and Denis Clemente.  In the win over BYU it was Pullen who scored a career-high 34 points. “These kids are unbelievable,” head coach Frank Martin said. “I mean, the way they compete, the way they go out and believe in each other and have grown, whether it is a freshman like Wally [Judge] from day one to where he’s at, or Jacob [Pullen], who is in year three, …

I am excited for them. I am excited for K-Staters.”  BYU was a team that was no slouch but they were blown out 84-72 by the Wildcats. “Maybe the best team we’ve played since I’ve been at BYU.” forward Jonathan Tavernari said.  Kansas State also has Jamar Samuels who won the Big 12’s Sixth Man of the Year Award. He’s one of four players averaging in double figures for Kansas State.

Xavier has been to the Sweet Sixteen in four of the last seven years and they made it to the Elite Eight twice since 2004.  Jordan Crawford leads the team as he averages 20 points, 4.8 rebounds, three assists and 1.4 steals per game. Xavier also has center Jason Love and point guard Terrell Holloway who can score.

Xavier has been a very good underdog in March Madness betting. The Musketeers are 9-1 vs. the March Madness lines in their last 10 NCAA Tournament games as an underdog. The Musketeers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games. The Musketeers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. the Big 12. The Wildcats are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 neutral site games as a favorite. The Wildcats are 19-7-1 ATS in their last 27 games overall. Trends for the total indicate that four of the last five Xavier games in the tourney have gone under.
