Syracuse vs. Florida NCAA Basketball Betting

December 1, 2010 NCAA Basketball

NCAA basketball betting pits a pair to Top 10 teams on Thursday as #10 Florida faces #7 Syracuse.

Before the college basketball betting season started, neither of these teams was though to be a power, but both teams come into this game at 8-0 and ranked in the Top 10.

NCAA basketball betting has this being a neutral court matchup as part of the SEC-Big East Invitational but the game is played at the St. Petersburg Times Forum in Florida so the Gators have the home court edge.  The game should be interesting in NCAA basketball betting since both teams are playing so well. “We definitely know we’re not the greatest team in the world, and we even feel like we haven’t even come close to playing our best ball,” Florida guard Erving Walker said. “It would be foolish to think like that, especially playing a team like Syracuse who has done just as much as us right now, if not more.”

The teams met last year in NCAA basketball betting and Syracuse won 89-83 but both teams have much different squads than a year ago.  The Gators have added guard Kenny Boynton and center Vernon Macklin while Syracuse has forward Wesley Johnson, who is averaging 17 points, 7.3 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game.  The key to this college basketball betting game will be Florida’s ability to contain Johnson. “He’s a terrific player, but the one thing that’s been good with Dan and Chandler is both guys do have range and size,” Florida head coach Billy Donovan said. “Dan has played post defense throughout his career here. Now, being more of a small forward, he’s had the opportunity to play a lot of guys on the perimeter.” Syracuse is averaging 90.4 points per NCAA basketball betting game but they will be tested against a Florida defense that is allowing just 57.9 points per game.

Syracuse has simply been excellent in NCAA basketball betting recently. They are 5-1 in college basketball betting in their last 6 non-conference games and they are 14-3 ATS in their last 17 games overall.  The only red flag for Syracuse in college basketball betting is that they are 2-8 in NCAA basketball betting in their last 10 games vs. the SEC.

The Gators are 4-0 in NCAA basketball betting in their last 4 games overall. The Gators are 7-1 vs. the NCAA basketball betting odds in their last 8 vs. the Big East.

Eight of the last ten Syracuse games have gone over in NCAA basketball betting. On the other side, Florida has gone under in their last seven NCAA basketball betting games.
