#6 Purdue Boilermakers vs. Wisconsin Badgers Betting Lines and Predictions

The rebuilding Wisconsin Badgers have proven to be out of their league in the Big Ten this season.  The UW youth movement has been a betting lines NCAA Basketball loser this season.  It has also caused a crisis of faith about the future success of Badgers Basketball.  Wisconsin Head Coach Greg Gard has presided over a bad drop in his second full season leading the program.  For the Purdue Boilermakers the 2017-18 season has been a banner success.  It has also been profitable for Boiler Backers.  Purdue is a bona fide Final Four caliber team.  Coach Matt Painter has built a complete team that dominates the entire court.  Wisconsin hosts Purdue on Thursday.

The Purdue Boilermakers are 23-4 straight up and 14-11-1 against the betting lines NCAA Basketball.   The public has caught wind of Purdue’s success which has driven down their betting value.  The Boilers have failed to get the money in their last six games.  That is despite the fact that they won four of those games straight up.  A two game straight up losing streak has taken some of the luster off Purdue.  In their last game they lost at Michigan State 68-65.  Matt Painter’s team is now in second place in the Big Ten.  Four out of the five starters for the Boilermakers are averaging 12 points per game or better.  Sophomore guard Carsen Edwards leads Purdue with 16.9 points per game.  Despite the recent dip Purdue owns the metrics of a quality team.  They rank 31st in the nation for scoring offense and 18th for defense.  That is indicative of good balance and a full court game.

The Wisconsin Badgers season has been a crushing disappointment.  UW is 11-16 straight up and 10-15-1 against the spread.  At the Kohl Center Wisky has paid out in just six out of 14 games.  The Badgers have lost three out of their last five games against the spread.  Over the total has hit in five out of Wisconsin’s last seven games.  Michigan scored an 83-72 payout over UW on Sunday.  An offense that ranks 307th in the country is killing the Badgers.

Purdue has dominated the sportsbook cashier’s cage in their head to head series with Wisconsin.  The Boilermakers have come away with the cash in six out of their last seven games against UW.  Under the total has paid off in five out of the last six meetings in this series.  At the Kohl Center Purdue has hit the payout window in their last four visits against the Badgers.  The last two games at the Kohl Center in this series have gone under the total.  Wisconsin is almost certain to miss the Big Dance for the first time since 1998.

This is a mismatch in every way.  The only potential concern is a Purdue

Betting Lines NCAA Basketball overlay.  Wisconsin is simply not an appealing team with the public.  A major turnoff is the fact that the Badgers are a poor offensive team.  UW lacks the firepower necessary to keep up with loaded Purdue.
