Oklahoma Sooners vs. Kansas Jayhawks - February 19th, 2018 Odds and betting analysis

The Oklahoma Sooners peaked on January 23 with an 85-80 upset win over Kansas.  At that time there was talk of a deep NCAA Tournament run.  But since that win OU has suffered a massive drop in College Basketball betting line value.  Oklahoma freshman sensation Trae Young triggers the nation’s best offense.  That is offset by a defense that is among the worst in the country.   The recent slide has Oklahoma’s March Madness viability in harm’s way.  The revenge seeking Kansas Jayhawks have also struggled with board value lately.  But they will have that loss at Oklahoma on their minds.  Kansas hosts Oklahoma on Monday.

Sooners vs. Jayhawks TV Coverage: ESPN

The Oklahoma Sooners have gushed red ink with the College Basketball betting line.  Oklahoma has gotten the money in just one out of their last ten games.  Over the total has paid in four out of the last six Sooner games.  One dimensional OU ranks second in the nation for scoring offense.  That is offset by a defense that ranks 337th for points allowed.  The Sooners are coming off a 77-66 home loss to Texas as six point chalks.  As usual Trae Young led Oklahoma with 26 points in the loss.  Young is averaging 29 points and nine assists per game.  On the road OU has been a terrible board value.  In nine away games Oklahoma has just two payouts.

The Kansas Jayhawks are 21-6 straight up and 13-12-1 against the spread.  They have lost just six out of 14 home games vs. the line.  Over the total has hit in eight of their home games.  KU is coming off a 77-69 home payout over West Virginia.  It was the first Jayhawk cover in five games.  Under the total has paid in three of the last four Kansas matchups.  Senior guard Devonte Graham leads KU with 17 points and seven assists per game.  Graham had 15 points, seven assists, and eight rebounds in the win over West Virginia.  Kansas ranks 36th in the nation for scoring offense.  Their defense ranks a medicore 132nd.  But for perspective compare that to Oklahoma’s abysmal ranking.

The Oklahoma Sooners have had the edge in this Sportsbook online series.  The Sooners have covered four out of their last five games against KU.  Under the total has paid out in the last four meetings in this series.  Oklahoma has come away with the cash in three out of their last four games at Kansas.  Six out of the last eight games at Allen Fieldhouse between OU and KU went over the total.

Matchup to Watch

This College Basketball betting line matchup features two of the best offenses in the nation.  The difference in the matchup is that Kansas at least plays some defense.  Oklahoma plays none.  Kansas is the far more complete team in this one.  The Sooner Slump shows no signs of ending.
