Notre Dame Fighting Irish at Villanova College Basketball Betting

College basketball betting has third-ranked Villanova trying to win their 19th game on Wednesday night as they host Notre Dame in a game that can be seen on ESPN.

The Wildcats have already matched the best start in school history at 18-1 and with a win against the Irish they would break that record.  Villanova is looking for their 10th straight win overall and they are favored to get it in NCAA basketball betting against Notre Dame.

College basketball betting had Villanova getting an 81-71 win over St. John’s on Saturday, as Scottie Reynolds scored 19 points. “He just sets the tone for the whole team on how we want to play,” coach Jay Wright said. “We want to play for each other and he does it every night. It is hard to do when you are the best player, and he is maybe one of the best we have ever had at that.” Reynolds is averaging 18.7 points per game this college basketball betting season.  He has averaged 20.5 points in four career games against Notre Dame.  Last season it was Villanova winning 77-60 as Reynolds scored 23 points.

Notre Dame has a potent scorer of their own in Luke Harangody who leads the Big East in scoring at 24.7 points per game.  “They’re a great team, probably one of the top in the country,” said Harangody, “I couldn’t tell you the last time they lost. We just have to go in there with this confidence.” The Fighting Irish are coming off an 87-77 win over DePaul on Saturday. Tim Abromaitis scored a team-high 30 and Harangody added 24.

Notre Dame lost to Syracuse earlier this season 84-71 when the Orange were ranked 5th.  Now they get third-ranked Villanova. “We played Syracuse when they were the hottest team in the league, and now we play Villanova and they’re the hottest team in the league,” coach Mike Brey said. “That’s a great opportunity for us as a team.”

Notre Dame has not been a good road team in college basketball betting. They are 4-10-1 vs. the college basketball betting line in their last 15 road games. The Fighting Irish are 5-2-1 in NCAA basketball betting in the last 8 meetings against Villanova.

Villanova has won their last four in college basketball betting against Big East teams. The Wildcats are 7-1 in NCAA basketball betting in their last 8 home games.

Eight of the last 11 Notre Dame games have gone over but on the road, five of their last seven have gone under in NCAA basketball betting. The last five Villanova games at home have gone over in college basketball betting.
