North Carolina at Kentucky College Basketball Betting

December 1, 2010 NCAA Basketball

College basketball betting will get some attention early on Saturday as two of the most storied teams in college basketball meet as 4th ranked Kentucky hosts 11th ranked North Carolina.

The Wildcats are unbeaten but they have not really been impressive vs. college basketball betting lines.  To win this NCAA basketball betting game they are going to have to play much better than they have so far this season.

College basketball betting has this game on CBS television on Saturday.  The Wildcats are hoping for a big college basketball betting win against North Carolina that would show the country they are for real. Head coach John Calipari is more realistic though. “These guys need to get punched in the nose and have a guy beat them upside down and decide if they are going to step up. It can’t just be John Wall. It has to be every single guy saying, ‘This is not happening. We are bringing it,’” said Calipari.

Kentucky is 7-0 but according to Calipari they could just as easily be 4-3. "We could have lost to Miami of Ohio, Sam Houston State or Stanford,” Calipari said, "We need a stretch like this coming up.” "This is all good because I always say you learn against good teams that [are just] as big, quick and athletic.” After this college basketball betting matchup the Wildcats will play Connecticut in the SEC/Big East Invitational and then play at Indiana.

North Carolina looked bad earlier this season in a college basketball betting loss to Syracuse but they looked awfully good earlier this week when they beat Michigan State 89-82 in NCAA basketball betting. Ed Davis scored a career-high 22 points and point guard Larry Drew II had a career-best with 18 points for the Tar Heels in the college basketball betting win. The Tar Heels led by as many as 19 points in the second half of the NCAA basketball betting victory. Senior Deon Thompson is averaging 17.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game for North Carolina this season as college basketball betting stats show.

Kentucky is 7-0 straight up this college basketball betting season but just 2-3 against the college basketball betting odds. North Carolina is 7-1 straight up and 3-4 against the NCAA basketball betting odds.  While the college basketball betting line on this game is close, Calipari is worried his team won’t match up. “We are not near those guys right now. I don’t think so. We are going to find out,” Calipari said about North Carolina.
