No. 8 Wichita State beats So. Illinois 56-45 in MVC game

This past Friday night the 6th of Feb. 2015 we saw the No.8 Wichita State Shockers 28-3 (1st in MVC) playing their next to last game for the NCAA BB 2014-15 regular season against the Southern Illinois Salukis 12-21 (9th in MVC) playing their last regular season game and this game was played at the Scottrade Center in Saint Louis, Missouri and the game tipped-off at 1 PM ET and for some was seen on ESPN 3.

The Shockers of Wichita State were for the most part the leading scorers in both halves of this MVC game, as in the 1st half the No. 8 Shockers outscored the Salukis of So. Illinois 28 -20 thus the 1st half ended with the shockers holding a 8 point advantage going into the 2nd half of the game. In the 2nd half the Salukis improved a bit in their scoring, but not enough to overcome their deficit in the game as they were outscored again in the 2nd half of the game as the Shockers scored another 28 points while the Salukis scored 25 points and the No.8 Wichita State Shockers beat Southern Illinois Salukis 56 to 45 as the Shockers won with 11 point advantage in the game.

The actual game leaders in the game starting with points, was Pendleton for SIU with 12 points and VanVleet for WICH with 13 points. On rebounds it was Obrien for SIU with 7 and Wessel for WICH with 5 rebounds. For assists it was Caroline for SIU with 2 and for WICH it was VanVleet with 4 assists. On Steals it was Caroline with 2 and for WICH it was VanVleet with 3 steals. Then on blocked shots for SIU it was O’Brien with 2 and for WICH it was Baker with 2 blocked shots in the game.

Now with this game as a has been, the Shockers of Wichita State will play Evansville or Illinois State who are the 5th and 4th seed in the Semifinals.
