Kentucky at Georgia – NCAA Basketball Betting

December 1, 2010 NCAA Basketball

NCAA basketball betting favors third-ranked Kentucky on Wednesday as they visit Georgia.

The Wildcats are coming off a loss at Tennessee on Saturday while Georgia defeated Florida.  Kentucky was second in the college basketball polls but they only dropped one spot to number three after the college basketball betting loss at Tennessee.

NCAA basketball betting could see Kentucky bounce back with a big win on Wednesday.  Georgia is coming off an emotional win at home over Florida and they may have a tough time repeating that effort against a motivated Kentucky team.  Trey Thompkins had 20 points in the win over Florida while Jeremy Price added 13 points.

Kentucky came back from 19 points down to tie Tennessee on Saturday but then lost in the last minute.   Kentucky nearly beat Tennessee even though they shot the ball terribly.  They were just 2 for 22 from three-point range and overall shot a season-worst 35 percent against the Vols. "You shoot two for 22 and it’s 65-65? Wow," head coach John Calipari said.  John Wall had 19 points while DeMarcus Cousins had 15 points and 14 rebounds. "Every time we were down I was always thinking we were going to win," Cousins said. "I just knew we had to make plays down the stretch."

Kentucky has beaten Georgia in 7 of the last 10 meetings but it is the Bulldogs who are 5-4-1 against the NCAA basketball betting odds.  Kentucky won 76-68 at home against Georgia back in January but they did not cover the basketball betting point spread.   Kentucky has been better in this series on the road in NCAA basketball betting.  They have covered three of their last four trips to Georgia. That goes right along with the Wildcats success this season as they are 5-3 against the spread on the road this season.

Georgia has been excellent at home this season versus the spread. They are 10-4 at home this season. Even though Georgia has a losing record straight up this season, they have been a team to follow in college hoops because they cover the NCAA basketball betting point spread. The Bulldogs are well coached and usually find a way to stay in games.  Georgia can also go over the total as their last three games overall have gone over and 7 of their 12 games at home have gone over the total.
