As you look at March Madness lines matchups there are specific things you can consider.  Trends can give players involved in betting March Madness odds a feel for how teams might do in certain games.  Those might be favorite or underdog, home or away, conference matchup, travel, etc.  Some of these factors will apply versus the March Madness betting line while others will not.  For the most part each team is on the road in the tournament although sometimes they will have a regional home court edge.  Other handicapping factors that apply to the conference might be more relevant when looking at March Madness odds.

You have to remember when looking at trends as they apply to March Madness lines that they are based on past results.  Things change in basketball and just because something worked last year versus the March Madness betting line does not mean it will work this year. Another problem with relying too much on trends is that just they can become too well known.

College basketball trends can be helpful as you look at March Madness odds but they shouldn’t be your only handicapping factor.
