The Colorado Buffaloes will be playing the UNLV Runnin’ Rebels in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on Thursday night. The game will be at the Pit in Albuquerque and will be broadcast on truTV.
The Buffaloes are a #11 seed. The 23-11 Buffaloes reached the tournament by winning the Pac-12 tournament with four wins from March 7-10. They are 2-3 against teams who have qualified for the NCAA tournament. However, three of those games were against California with the Buffaloes going 2-1 against them.
Carlon Brown, a senior guard, will be a player to watch for. Brown was a transfer from Utah who actually thought about attending UNLV at one point. Brown leads the Buffaloes with 12.6 points in each game. Sophomore forward Andre Roberson is also a notable player on the team. He has 11.6 points and 11.1 rebounds in each game. He has gotten a double-double in three of his last five games. Check the March Madness Odds for Colorado Buffaloes vs. UNLV Runnin’ Rebels game.
The Rebels are a #6 seed and finished the season with a 26-8 record. The Rebels had the third best record in the Mountain West Conference and received an at-large bid.
UNLV is coming into the tournament with a 6-5 record since February. The Rebels have lost their last four games outside of Las Vegas. The Rebels are 5-6 against NCAA tournament teams. This includes a 90-80 win over North Carolina back on November 26.
Mike Moser, a sophomore forward, continues to lead the Rebels in many categories. He has 14.1 points, 10.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals in each game. The entire team is getting 17.7 assists in each game, thus making the Rebels third in all of Division I basketball in this category.
UNLV is the favorite but not by too much. The Rebels are a -5.5 favorite. UNLV also has a -240 moneyline bet with Colorado having a +200 bet. The over/under is at 135. This will be a challenging matchup between these two teams as they get ready to potentially move to the field of 32.
