KU Seeks College Basketball Betting Line Revenge vs. Mounties

West Virginia Mountaineers vs. Kansas Jayhawks

At the beginning of the season Kansas was touted as a bona fide favorite to win the Big 12 Conference.  Not to mention contend for a Final Four berth.  However, the Jayhawks have come nowhere near living up to those expectations.  Most important of all they have been consistent overlays with the college basketball betting line.  Along the same lines has West Virginia been a terrible board value.  Head coach Bob Huggins is presiding over a lost season.  But the one highlight for the Mountaineers this year was a win over Kansas.  Subsequently KU hasn’t forgotten about it.

West Virginia Mountaineers

Late online betting results have not been good to gamblers with West Virginia.  Seven of the Mounties last nine games have not cashed in.  Three of their last five have gone under the total.  National rankings for head coach Bob Huggins team are quite ugly and telling.  WVU ranks 204th scoring offense and 268th for points allowed.  Overall the Mounties are 10-14 straight up, 7-16-1 against the odds, and 13-11 over the total.  Cellar dweller status belongs to West Virginia.

Kansas Jayhawks

In the same way Kansas has struggled on the college basketball wagering board.  KU has failed to pay in six of their last eight games with six of their last nine games going over the total.  Jayhawk metrics rate 90th for scoring offense and 150th for points allowed.  As a result, Kansas is 18-6 straight up, 10-14 vs. the spread and 14-9-1 over the total.  KU is in fourth place in the Big 12 Conference race.

Important Names on Court

Initially Kansas forward Dedric Lawson garners plenty of attention.  Lawson leads KU with 19.6 and 10.6 rebounds per game.  Counter to that for West Virginia is the injury to their top player Sagaba Konate.  He was leading WVU with 13.6 points and eight rebounds per outing.

Stats to Consider

West Virginia has not been a reliable play on the road with the college basketball betting line.  As an example, the Mountaineers have lost five of their last seven on the board away from home.  Three of their last five road matchups cleared the total.  By contrast Kansas has been better than expected as a play at Allen Fieldhouse.  KU has covered five of their last eight at home with seven of their last nine home games going over the total.

Team vs. Team

Kansas has had the edge in their NCAA Basketball betting series with West Virginia.  To illuminate the Jayhawks have covered five of their last eight games with the Mounties.  Six of the last nine meetings between these teams have gone under the total.  And at Allen Fieldhouse the Jayhawks have gotten the cash in four of their last six against WVU.  Four of those six game went over the total.

Matchup to Watch

In this situation Kansas is the best of two struggling values with the college basketball betting line.  Certainly, the loss of Konate has done great damage to West Virginia.
