Iowa at Ohio State College Basketball Betting

College basketball betting on Ohio State has picked up as the Buckeyes look like a serious contender in college hoops with a healthy Evan Turner. The Buckeyes have won six of their last seven overall and have moved into the Top 20 in the country.  They are favored in NCAA basketball betting in this matchup on Sunday against Iowa.

College basketball betting has not been very popular on Iowa this season as they have fallen to 8-15 overall and 2-8 in the Big 10. They don’t seem to have much of a chance against the Buckeyes but they could cover the NCAA basketball betting odds. The Hawkeyes are coming off a 57-49 loss to Illinois on Wednesday.  “We did more good than bad and hopefully we can fight, compete, and eventually make some winning plays when it comes that time,” Iowa head coach Todd Lickliter said. “I feel like this is two games where it was time to win and we just didn’t come up with the right plays. Hopefully we will keep competing and that will happen.” Iowa just can’t score enough points to win consistently in college basketball betting. “We have to stay fresh and keep our heads up,” leading scorer Matt Gatens said. “We can’t stay down and get mad about the close loss today. We have to learn from it. We’re playing good basketball, we’re competing, we have a chance to win at the end of the game and now it is just a matter of getting that ‘W.'”

Iowa is unlikely to get a win against Ohio State who has simply been excellent since Evan Turner returned. He had 27 points on Wednesday as the Buckeyes beat Penn State 75-62.  Ohio State is now 17-6 overall and 7-3 in the Big 10. The Buckeyes are now 14-0 at home this season.  They are 9-5 vs. the college basketball betting odds in those games.

Ohio State has won six of the last ten against Iowa but they are just 5-5 against the NCAA basketball betting odds.  Just over a week ago at Iowa, the Buckeyes won 65-57 but they did not cover the 10-point college basketball betting line. Last season when the teams met at Columbus, the Buckeyes won 68-65 but they didn’t cover in college basketball betting.  Ohio State is still 4-1 straight up and 3-2 against the college basketball betting point spread in the last five home meetings against Iowa.  Three of the last four in this series overall have gone under the NCAA basketball betting total.
