Final Four Coaches Bring College Basketball Betting Line Cache

2019 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament Final Four

A clear difference in emotions has been experienced by Virginia head coach Tony Bennett.  One year ago, he suffered indescribable humiliation when his Cavaliers became the first number one seed in history to lose to a 16-seed.  But Bennett and the Cavaliers have redeemed themselves with a Final Four berth.  Meanwhile Chris Beard has put the Texas Tech Red Raiders into the Final Four in his his second season on the job.  Auburn’s Bruce Pearl leads one of the hottest teams with the college basketball betting line.  And Tom Izzo of the Michigan State Spartans is “old money” for gamblers.

Chris Beard

Chris Beard may be the least known of the four Final Four coaches but that is not going to last for long.  Beard has worked a miracle that ranks with Bruce Pearl in leading a program with little basketball success to the ultimate dream.  This will be the first Final Four appearance for both teams.  Defense has been the Red Raiders foundation for success with the college basketball betting line. Of little difference did Tech’s lack of basketball tradition matter.  Beard has delivered what was considered impossible.

Tom Izzo

Now Tom Izzo is leading Michigan State to their eighth Final Four appearance.  Izzo led Sparty to the 2000 National Championship.  Yet as celebrated as Izzo is the fact remains that is his only natty.  Most important of all to gamblers is that MSU was one of the biggest money makers this year.  This is a hallmark of the program’s consistency.  No program in America showed a greater work ethic than Michigan State.  Certainly that comes from Izzo.  Consider that Sparty got the cash in 27 out of 38 games this season.  Izzo simply doesn’t allow nights off.

Bruce Pearl

Extending the outstanding lineup of coaches is the man in the black hat himself, Bruce Pearl.  NCAA Basketball profits and trouble come hand in hand with this incredible coach.  Certainly, Pearl is known for his many NCAA rules issues.  Not to mention many of his assistants getting caught red handed breaking the rules.  But all one has to do is look at Bill Self of Kansas and Roy Williams of North Carolina.  That celebrated duo has a mountain of their own dirty laundry.  On the whole Pearl is no worse than anyone else in college basketball.

Tony Bennett

Tony Bennett was named national coach of the year last year. Yet he is best known for that epic loss to Baltimore Maryland County last year in the Big Dance.  Starting with the consistently putting the best defenses in the nation on the court does Bennett’s excellence show.

Matchup to Watch

On this occasion you won’t find a greater contrast in coaches than Pearl and Bennett.  Yet both thrive as big-time winners.  Beard is something of the anonymous man in his college basketball betting line matchup with Izzo.  Indeed, this is one of the best foursomes of coaches in Final Four history.
