Final Four 2010 Preview of March Madness Odds

March Madness odds culminate with the Final Four 2010 on Saturday and then with the national title game on Monday. Normally when it comes to March Madness betting there is a team among the four that really stands out. With this year’s group of four teams that is really not the case.

March Madness odds favor Duke and Butler in the two Final Four 2010 games but not by a lot. The Blue Devils are a #1 seed but they are only a 3-point favorite against West Virginia. Butler is just a one-point favorite in March Madness odds against Michigan State in the other game.

There are not a lot of star players in this year’s Final Four.  You will probably see Devin Ebanks and Da’Sean Butler in the NBA in the future and it is possible that Nolan Smith and Kyle Singler from Duke make it.  Butler has Gordon Heyward and he might make the NBA.  None of those players are considered lottery picks though.  What that means is that any of the four teams can win the title. There is not a standout player who is going to steal the show in March Madness betting.

While there are not the big names in terms of players on the March Madness odds board, there are some huge names in terms of coaching.  Duke has Mike Krzyzewski, Michigan State has Tom Izzo and West Virginia is led by Bob Huggins.  Krzyzewski has 11 Final Four appearances and three titles while Izzo has been to six with one title.  West Virginia’s Bob Huggins has been to one Final Four but didn’t win with Cincinnati. Butler’s Brad Stevens has been a head coach for only three years and this is his first Final Four.

The edge in talent in this Final Four goes to Duke, the hometown edge to Butler, the experience to Michigan State and the toughness to West Virginia.  This Final Four sure does have some variety.  Butler is going to get a lot of attention in March Madness odds because of their home advantage. Duke will get bet because they have the marquee name but it should be noted that this is the first time in a long time that the Blue Devils have been in the Final Four. Michigan State has Tom Izzo and that is reason enough to bet the Spartans while West Virginia might just be the best team of the four and they have the best clutch player left in the tournament in Da’Sean Butler.
