ACC Tournament March Madness Odds

March Madness odds on the ACC Tournament get underway this week with first round games on Thursday. The four top seeds in the ACC won’t play until Friday and it looks like a Maryland-Duke rematch could be coming in March Madness betting.

March Madness odds have Duke as the top seed in the ACC Tournament with Maryland the #2 seed.  It is a critical tournament for Duke since they could get a #1 seed in next week’s NCAA Tournament if they can run the table and win the ACC tourney.  If not, they will probably fall to a number two seed.

ACC Tournament play begins on Thursday as North Carolina faces Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets were firmly in the NCAA Tournament field a couple of weeks ago but if they lose this game against North Carolina they will be in serious trouble.  Also on Thursday it is Wake Forest against Miami. The Demon Deacons also can’t really afford to get upset in this game if they expect to make it in March Madness odds.  Clemson faces North Carolina State and the Tigers will be favored to win. Boston College and Virginia also meet on Thursday.  The top four seeds in the ACC tourney are Duke, Maryland, Florida State and Virginia Tech and they will play the Thursday winners on Friday.

Virginia and Boston College really have not shot in this tourney since the winner of their game faces Duke in the second round.  N.C. State has very little chance either and they probably wont get by Clemson in the first round.  Miami at least has a shot against Wake Forest but they probably can’t do much more than win one game. North Carolina is the defending NCAA Tournament champions but the only way they make the March Madness betting field this year is by winning the ACC Tournament.  Winning against Georgia Tech is going to be tough enough for North Carolina.

It really should come down to Duke and Maryland for the ACC title and Duke would be favored to get revenge after losing against Maryland just over a week ago.  The key player for Maryland would be Greivis Vasquez who could be the ACC Player of the Year.  Duke would have revenge in mind though if the teams meet in the title game and they would have what would almost amount to a home court advantage in Greensboro.
