2024 Pac-12 Tournament March 13-16, 2024

The Pac-12 is holding its final men’s basketball tournament, at least in its current format, this week in Las Vegas. The Pac-12 imploded, losing all of its teams except Washington State and Oregon State to other leagues. Starting with next season, the league will either reform or fold. So, this year brings historical context to the College Basketball lines. First among the favorites are the Arizona Wildcats, the Pac-12 traditional power. Arizona received a stiff challenger from Washington State. But nobody else was in the mix. Still, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and UCLA may factor in this week.

2024 Pac-12 Tournament Team Overviews

Correlate that outside of Arizona and Washington State, the rest of the Pac-12 will need strong showings this week to have a shot at March Madness.

Arizona Wildcats

Despite its status as the power online betting Pac-12 brand, Arizona was one of the best values on the board. The Wildcats lost only nine out of 29 games to the oddsmakers. In like manner, the Wildcats were profitable down the stretch. To show, Arizona lost to the spread in only two of its final ten games. Arizona boasts the nation’s second-ranked scoring offense. However, the Cats’ defense is vulnerable, ranking 225th for points allowed. G Caleb Love leads Arizona with 19.4 points per game.

Washington State Cougars

The Washington State Cougars were the biggest surprise of the Pac-12 this year. The Cougars were also popular with gamblers, with 11 payouts in the final 15 games. Washington State is more than the total sum of its parts. To illustrate, the Cougars rank 138th for scoring offense and 54th for points allowed. G Myles Rice averaged 15.5 points per game. Meanwhile, F Isaac Jones brings 15.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest.

Colorado Buffaloes

Following a strong start, Colorado faded badly in the meat of the Pac-12 schedule. The Buffs got the cash in only two of their final nine games. Colorado ranked an impressive 34th in the nation for scoring offense. However, their 199th-ranked scoring defense was a liability with the College basketball lines. G KJ Simpson lads the Buffs with 19.9 points and 5.6 rebounds per game.

Oregon Ducks

In a similar way to Colorado, Oregon lost value down the stretch. To show, the Ducks covered only one of its last eight games. Also, Oregon went over the total in six of its last nine outings. Oregon ranked a subpar 202nd for points allowed. G Jermaine Couisnard leads Oregon with 15.5 points per game. At the same time, C N’Faly Dante averages 14.9 points and 8.5 rebounds per contest.

Utah Utes

Utah was one of the most inconsistent teams on the hardwood and at the betting window. The Utes covered only four of their final 11 games. Additionally, Utah went over the total in six of their last nine outings. Of major concern is the Utes’ porous defense ranks 207th for points allowed. C Branden Carlson leads Utah with 16.7 points and 7.0 rebounds per contest.

UCLA Bruins

The UCLA Bruins may rank as college basketball’s biggest disappointment in 2024. The Bruins were expected to contend for the Pac-12 title. Instead, they struggled to stay at the .500 mark and were in the red against oddsmakers. UCLA faded down the stretch with only one payout in their final five games. In turn, the Bruins went over the total in six of their final nine games. UCLA ranked an abysmal 334th for scoring offense. Specifically, that is indicative of its lack of skill and depth.
