What to expect of the NBA Games Betting Odds: Spurs vs. Warriors

Golden State Warriors vs. San Antonio Spurs Latest odds and betting predictions - March 19th, 2018

Despite their status as NBA champions the Golden State Warriors are a consistent money loser.  Too much public money flows their way with NBA games betting odds.  Adding to their lack of betting value is a defense that takes too many possessions off.  Defense is rarely a problem for the San Antonio Spurs.  Back end play is what has kept them in playoff position. Scoring depth is what will prevent the Spurs from a deep playoff run.   Essentially both teams are more often than not half teams.  And key injuries have made Golden State even less than half lately.

Golden State

Slumping Golden State has lost seven of their last nine with NBA games betting odds.  Under the total has hit in seven of their last nine.  Away from home they have covered just 15 of 35 games.  Offensively the Warriors are the highest scoring team in the NBA.  Offsetting that is a defense that ranks 18th in the league.  Surprisingly the Warriors trail Houston by two games for top seed in the West.  Most significant are injuries to Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.  Both are out until the end of March.

San Antonio

No team could be more opposite of the Warriors than San Antonio.  Defensively they are top ranked in the Association.  Offensively they are inept with a ranking of 28th in the NBA.  Home court has been an advantage for the Spurs.  Especially relevant is their 20-13-1 mark vs. the line at AT&T Center.  Recent wagering value has been solid for San Antonio.  With four payouts in their last six games they are in good form.  However only two games separate the Spurs from being out of the playoffs.  As a result, they have no margin for error down the stretch.

Big Names on Court

Absent of Durant and Curry the Warriors face an incalculable online sportsbook disadvantage.  Seems like they are even less than ordinary without their two superstars.  Comparatively the Spurs look like a powerhouse.  LaMarcus Aldridge has supplied what little offense that San Antonio generates.  The six time All Star is averaging 24 points and eight rebounds per game.

Team vs. Team

Golden State has paid in five of their last six against the Spurs.  Six of the last eight in this series have gone over the total.  San Antonio has failed to cover their last four home games vs. the Warriors.  Three of the last four at AT&T Center in this matchup have gone over the number.

Matchup to Watch

Normally the Warriors would make a great pick for NBA games betting odds.  Due to the absence of Curry and Durant all bets are off.  Sure, the linemaker will adjust the number accordingly.  But there is nothing here that points to a Golden State payout.  Gregg Popovich has the Spurs in top form at the most critical time of the year.  Most of all Aldridge is the best player on the court for this one.
