Warriors Look to Outscore Wizards in Basketball Gambling

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

Basketball gambling could feature a high scoring game on Tuesday as the Washington Wizards host the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors have been scoring a lot of points lately and that could continue in this NBA gambling matchup against Washington.

Basketball gambling odds list the total on this game as quite high but it hasn’t matter much with Golden State lately. The Warriors have still gone over the total in six of their last ten games.  This is the second game of a four-game road trip for the Warriors. In this series, the Warriors and Wizards have split their last ten games both straight up and against the point spread.

Golden State and Washington don’t play very often.  In fact, this is their first meeting this season.  Last year they met just once and it was in Oakland as the Wizards won 118-109. That game did go over the total in NBA gambling.  Five of the last six games between the two teams have gone over the total.  The total on this game is high but the potential for a lot of points exists in this Tuesday night matchup.

Golden State is second in the league in points per game and last in defense.  That does translate into high scoring games. The oddsmaker has adjusted though and a Golden State game with a total in the high 220’s or 230’s is not unusual.  There was even a game last month against Phoenix where they had a total of 242.  And yes, that game did go over in basketball gambling.  What might be surprising to you is that Golden State has actually gone under the total more on the road than they have gone over.  It is tough taking Golden State under the total but on the road it has worked.

Washington has not been a good team this season vs. the point spread at home or on the road.  At home they have been particularly weak, losing most of the time against the odds.  Washington simply doesn’t have much in terms of talent. They traded away their best players and Gilbert Arenas was suspended for the season.  It is all about next season for Washington.  They have Andray Blatche who can score some points while Mike Miller can also make an impact.  Other than those two players there are not a lot of scoring options for the Wizards.
