Utah Jazz at Memphis NBA Betting

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

NBA betting includes a rare home and home on Friday as the Memphis Grizzlies host the Utah Jazz.

The two teams just played on Wednesday night in Utah. The NHL has the home and home all the time but the NBA rarely does it.  It is definitely strange in this basketball betting instance since Utah and Memphis are not close geographically.

NBA betting on Memphis has been more successful this season than in the past and the Grizzlies definitely have a shot in this game against Utah.  The problem for Memphis in NBA betting is that before Wednesday’s game at Utah, the Grizzlies had lost the previous ten meetings against the Jazz.  Before Wednesday, the Jazz were 41-13 all-time against the Grizzlies.

This is the only time this season that the Jazz will play a home and home against the same opponent. The Jazz are one of two teams in the league that have two players ranked in the Top 20 in scoring as they have Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams who impact NBA betting.  The other team who fits into that statistics is Memphis who has Rudy Gay and Zach Randolph.

NBA betting stats indicate that the Jazz won and covered both games at Memphis last season.  The Jazz won 101-94 and 103-04. In this NBA betting series, before Wednesday night’s game, four of the last five games had gone over the basketball betting total.

Memphis has been a beast at home this season in NBA betting. They are a superb 10-4-1 at home versus the basketball betting odds. The Grizzlies are a surprising 5th in the league in scoring as NBA betting stats indicate, led by Gay and Randolph. They also have other players like O.J. Mayo and Marc Gasol who can put up double-figures on a regular basis and impact basketball betting odds.

Utah is just 7-9 this season on the road versus the NBA betting line.  The Jazz have never been that great on the road and that continues this NBA betting season. Utah is struggling a little bit on offense as they are just 16th in the league but their defense has been okay, ranking 12th in the league. Utah is capable of winning almost any game when Boozer and Williams are hot but they have also shown they can lose against anyone.  Utah has simply been erratic for most of the season in NBA betting.
