Toronto Raptors lose to Golden State Warriors 113-89

basketball on floorFriday the 27th of Feb. 2015 we saw game 2 of 2 games between the Toronto Raptors 37-21 playing at the Golden State Warriors 45-11 and leaders of the Western Conference and the Raptors are 2nd in the Eastern Conference behind the Atlanta Hawks, and this game was played at the Raptors home court, the Air Canada Centre in Toronto, Ontario and tip-off was at 7:30 PM ET and seen on TSN.

The first game was played at Golden State and the Warriors in that 1st game beat the Toronto Raptors 126-105 and that game was played on the 2nd of January 2015. This second game with the exception of the 4th quarter was all led by the Warriors, as in the 1st quarter of this game the Warriors outscored the Raptors 27 to 11. In the 2nd quarter the Warriors again outscored the Raptors 27 to 20 and the game when to half time with Golden State 54 and Toronto 31 as the Raptors went to half time with a 23 point deficit. In the second half of the game, and in the 3rd quarter again the Warriors outscored the Raptors 44-26 and in the 4th and final quarter of the game the Raptors finally outscored the Warriors 32-15 but it turned out that it was too little to late with the final score Golden State Warriors 113 and the Toronto Raptors 89 losing the game by 24 points.

The top 5 performers for the Golden State Warriors in this game were guard-Thompson-25 points 1 rebound 5 assists, guard-Curry-22 points 6 rebounds 5 assists, forward-Green-17 points 9 rebounds 2 assists, guard-Livingston-11 points 2 rebounds off the bench and guard-Barbosa-11 points 1 rebound and 1 assist.

The leading top 5 performers for the Toronto Raptors was forward-Ross-18 points 1 rebound 1 assist off the bench, guard-DeRozan-14 points 3 rebounds, guard-Williams-12 points 4 rebounds 3 assists, forward-Johnson-8 points 4 rebounds 3 assists off the bench and center-Valandunas-7 points and 12 rebounds.

On the team statistics, the Warriors had a total of 113 points, as they attempted 87 field goals making 42 for 48%, on 3-pointers the made 13 of 28 for 46 % completion, for foul shots they had 19 making 16 for an 84 % completion rate. Meanwhile the Raptors scored a total of 89 points with 77 field goal attempts making some 31 for a 40% completion rate, on 3-pointers they 4 of 22 for 18%, and on foul shots made 23 of 28 for an 82% completion rate.

Apart from scoring the Warriors had a total of 47 rebounds, 31 assists, 5 blocks, 11 steals, 13 turnovers while committing 22 fouls. On the Raptors side that had 42 total rebounds with 15 assists, 3 blocks, 6 steals, 19 turnovers and committed some 17 fouls in the game.

This loss by 24 points for Toronto turns out to a worst home loss dating back to the 2009-2010 season, and that’s when they got beat by the Utah Jazz in March of 2010 with the final score in that game 113-87 which was just some 2 points different that this score this past Friday night. For the Warriors in the game Curry and Thompson scored a combined 47 points after they got beat the Cavaliers in their last game.
