Cleveland Cavaliers at Detroit Pistons NBA Basketball Gambling preview
Location: The Palace of Auburn Hills
Time: 7:35 PM
NBA online betting odds:
Cavaliers -5½ (-110) 217 (-110) -220
Pistons +5½ (-110) 217 (-110) +180
The Cavs seem to be having yet another off month, losing two straight to the Miami Heat, as well as three of the last four games. However, given that the Pistons are seventh in the East 12 games behind Cleveland, it is safe to assume that the Cavs are the straight-up favorites for tonight. They will have to make do without Andrew Bogut, though – whom someone presumably told to “break a leg” before his debut with the Cavaliers on Monday. Maybe it’s an Aussie thing, but the big man really took that piece of advice to heart. Bogut plans to rehabilitate back in his native Australia with his family, who’ll hopefully slip an extra shrimp on the barbie for him. Meanwhile, the Cavs plan to waive Bogut so as to free up a roster spot.
San Antonio Spurs at Oklahoma City Thunder Basketball Gambling preview
Location: Chesapeake Energy Arena
Time: 8:00 PM
NBA online betting odds:
Spurs -3 (-110) 212 (-110) -150
Thunder +3 (-110) 212 (-110) +130
This is the proverbial Tale of Two {insert noun here}. The Spurs have won their last nine games in a row, while the Thunder have lost four straight. San Antonio extended their record for 50-win seasons to 18 on Wednesday, in yet another comeback victory. The Spurs rallied from a 16-point deficit against the Rockets on Monday and from a 28-point deficit against the Kings last night, sans top scorers Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge. Odds are San Antonio may not have to struggle so against OKC, which has allowed 114 points to the Blazers, 118 to the Phoenix Suns, 104 to the Dallas Mavericks, and 126 to the Blazers again. When asked what the Thunder needs to do to improve on defense, center Steven Adams said. “It’s our communication, bro, that’s our biggest thing. We’ve got to be up higher in pick and rolls and take more efficient routes.” Pick’n’Roll, Bro.
Los Angeles Clippers at Memphis Grizzlies Basketball Gambling preview
Location: FedExForum
Time: 8:05 PM
NBA online betting odds:
Clippers +2½ (-110) 207 (-110) +125
Grizzlies -2½ (-110) 207 (-110) -145
The Clips have lost five of their last eight games while Memphis has lost three straight. According to head coach Glen ‘Doc’ Rivers, the Clippers “got to get better” after their “frustrating game to watch” against Minnesota on Wednesday, a 91-107 loss for the Los Angeles team. Blake Griffin and Chris Paul have returned to the lineup after missing seven games, but did not seem to make much of a difference on-court. As for the Grizzlies, had coach Dave Fizdale replaced Tony Allen and JaMychal Green with Andrew Harrison and Brandan Wright on Monday, but the adjustment did not translate into a win, one of which Memphis has not had since the end of February. The Grizzlies are 2½ behind the Clippers for the fifth seed in the West.
