Basketball bet will have Spud Webb as one of the judges for the NBA Slam Dunk Contest on Saturday.
Webb shocked the world when he beat Dominique Wilkins to win the contest in 1986 at Dallas. This year’s NBA Slam Dunk Contest returns to Dallas for the first time since that basketball betting season.
Basketball bet has Nate Robinson as the defending champion and he has a lot in common with Webb. Robinson will be trying to become the first-ever three time basketball bet champ as he also won in 2006. Webb will be one of the judges that decide whether or not Robinson is good enough to win. "Having lived in Dallas my entire life, it’s great to finally see the All-Star Game back here," Webb said, "This event brings back a lot of great memories." Webb is the president of basketball operations for the NBA D-League team in Frisco, Texas.
Robinson is likely to get a lot of basketball bet attention in this contest. He will be joined by Charlotte’s Gerald Wallace, the Lakers’ Shannon Brown and the winner of a dunk-off between Toronto’s DeMar DeRozan and the Los Angeles Clippers’ Eric Gordon. That dunk-off will be held at the half of the Rookie Challenge on Friday.
Webb was a popular basketball bet champion and Robinson was popular when he first won in 2006 when he used Webb in his dunk. Webb is hoping that props are not used this time. "I expect Nate not to use props this time. I hope to see some new dunks, otherwise I may have to go put some shorts on and see if I have any springs left in these legs." Webb said.
Basketball bet interest in the Dunk Contest has not been as high in recent years since the competitors have been players who are not superstars. That is the case again this season since LeBron James, Dwight Howard and others are not in the basketball betting contest. The only hype this season seems to be surrounding Los Angeles’ Shannon Brown. He could be the only one bringing much excitement to this year’s contest and he could be a popular basketball betting choice for those making a basketball bet.
The Dunk Contest will be held on Saturday at American Airlines Arena while the NBA All-Star game on Sunday in basketball betting will be at Cowboys Stadium.
