San Antonio Spurs at Denver Basketball Bet

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

Basketball bet favors Denver on Thursday as they host the San Antonio Spurs in a game that can be seen on TNT television.

The Nuggets have been excellent at home this season while the Spurs have struggled on the road.  Denver has already won twice this season against the Spurs in basketball betting.

Basketball bet has seen the teams split their season series in three of the last five seasons.  Denver is 42-33 all-time in home games against the Spurs. Overall, the Spurs have won six of the last ten against Denver and they are 6-4 against the basketball betting line.  Both of the games that Denver won this season were in San Antonio and neither was that close in basketball betting. The Nuggets won 103-89 last month and 106-99 back in December.  Denver has won three of the last four at home against the Spurs and they are 2-2 against the basketball bet line in those games.

San Antonio has really had their troubles on the road this season in basketball betting. They were blown out at Los Angeles on Monday and the Lakers didn’t even have Kobe Bryant for that game.  Now the Spurs have to face Denver on the road and that won’t be easy.  The Spurs are 9-12 vs. the basketball bet line on the road this season.  The Spurs are 7th on defense which is solid but their offense is just 15th in the league.  San Antonio looks old even though Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili can still be effective and impact basketball bet results. Richard Jefferson looks more and more like a bust and overall the Spurs do not look like a serious title contender in basketball betting.

Denver has been dealing with injuries but they are starting to get healthy. Carmelo Anthony is back now and Denver is a better team when he is in the lineup. The Nuggets are 2nd in the league in scoring but they are just 22nd on defense as basketball bet statistics indicate.  San Antonio probably doesn’t have the offensive firepower to take advantage of Denver’s defensive weakness. The Nuggets are just about .500 at home vs. the basketball bet odds so they can struggle to cover when laying points. Denver does go over the total more often at home so that is something to keep in mind as you bet the total.
