Rockets vs. Warriors Game 4 Conference Finals Odds and Predictions

May 21, 2018 NBA Basketball, Sportsbook

Houston is in an interesting playoff predicament.  They are the top seed in the Western Conference.  An NBA best record of 65-17 is why.  Yet the Rockets are a decided underdog to Golden State.  Much of that is based on the Warriors three straight NBA Finals appearances.  And the dynamic duo of Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant.  Two superstars on a team makes for a big NBA games betting odds chalk.  Add in home court and you have the betting public lining up for action.  Value becomes the big consideration of sharps.  Is Golden State an overlay?

Series so Far

Golden State annihilated Houston 126-85 in game three.  It was an easy payout for the 7.5 point chalks.  The Warriors now lead the best of seven series 2-1.  Stephen Curry had the hot hand for Golden State with 35 points.  Kevin Durant added 25 more.  Draymond Green powered to 17 rebounds with 10 points.  NBA scoring leader James Harden had a relatively modest 20 points for the Rockets.  Game five of this series will be at Houston on Thursday.

Warriors

Kevin Durant has been among the top NBA games betting assets so far this post season.  Durant is averaging 30 points and seven rebounds per game.  Stephen Curry missed the first six playoff matchups.  Since his return he has averaged 22 points per outing.  Draymond Green is keeping the glass clean with 11 rebounds per tilt.  Klay Thompson is often forgotten.  Yet he is another key component for the Warriors.  Thompson is pumping in 21 points per matchup.  Houston has been led by James Harden’s 29 points per contest.  Clint Capela has produced 11 rebounds per game.

Team vs. Team

Houston has failed to cover three of their last four online sportsbook road playoff matchups.  Four of their last six away playoff games went under the total.  Golden State has covered just two of their last five home post season games.  Three of those five matchups went under the total.  Houston has covered just six of their last 19 meetings with the Warriors.  Nine of the last 13 between these teams went under.

Golden State all over Houston

The depth of quality for Golden State is proving to be too much for Houston.  With two bona fide superstars in Durant and Curry they have a unique advantage.  Its as if they have twice the advantage of anyone else in the NBA.  Houston has Harden but from there it drops off noticeably.  Curry missed the stretch run of the regular season.  That helped Houston get top seed.   As long as the Warriors are healthy no team in the NBA is as good.

Matchup to Watch

Golden State has two big NBA games betting odds advantages.  First, they clearly have more star power with Curry and Durant.  Not to mention quality depth with Klay Thompson.  And top rebounder Draymond Green.  Second, they have home court.  No factor is as important in pro basketball.
