Phoenix Suns at Minnesota Basketball Betting

November 30, 2010 NBA Basketball

Basketball betting favors the Phoenix Suns on Friday as they visit the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The Suns have been one of the best teams in the NBA this season and will be a popular NBA betting choice in this matchup against Minnesota.

Basketball betting has this being the first of a four-game road trip for the Suns.   Earlier this basketball betting season in Phoenix the Suns defeated Minnesota 120-112 as Steve Nash had 14 assists and Channing Frye hit six 3-pointers.  Frye had 25 points to lead the Suns while Grant Hill and Jason Richardson added 23 apiece. Ryan Gomes collected 23 points and 15 rebounds for Minnesota, while Al Jefferson added 21 points as NBA betting stats showed.

The Suns have won 7 of the last 10 overall against Minnesota and they are 6-4 against the basketball betting odds.  The Suns have won and covered in NBA betting in three of the last five games at Minnesota.  The Suns won 110-102 and 110-97 at Minnesota a year ago.  Three of those five games went over the basketball betting total.

Phoenix is 5-4 against the basketball betting line on the road this season. The Suns have the top ranked offense in the league this season and that is the main reason they have been winning games. Jason Richardson has made the Suns even more potent in the fast break and that has been huge. Their defense is weak but so far their offense has more than made up for it.  The Suns are getting a lot of respect in basketball betting though and that has meant high lines on both their sides and their totals.  In fact, five of their nine road games have gone under in basketball betting.

Minnesota has simply been awful this season and if not for the New Jersey Nets would be the worst team in the league. They have done nothing straight up or against the basketball betting odds. They can’t even cover the basketball betting pointspread at home for the most part.  They are terrible on offense and not much better on defense.  Since they can’t score, many of their games are going under in NBA betting.  Minnesota’s defense isn’t that great but it is better than their offense.  The Timberwolves have Al Jefferson and a bunch of young players that really are not well known.  It is going to be a long basketball betting year in Minnesota.
